History

Founded in 1980 by Huntsville native Joe Poore, King Mobile Home Supply began as a small local store on Sparkman Drive—right where the current Walmart stands today. Joe had a vision to provide mobile homeowners with quality parts and personal service, helping them maintain and improve their homes affordably.

Later that year, Joe’s daughter Gracie King and her husband Larry purchased the store to carry on his legacy. They relocated the business to North Parkway at Mastin Lake, where it continues to serve customers to this day. With a commitment to customer care and a vast inventory, the Kings built the company into a trusted name across Alabama.

In the early 1990s, the store underwent a complete remodel, giving it the same welcoming look it has today. With more than 40 years of experience and a team that knows mobile home living inside and out, King Mobile Home Supply is proud to be the largest home store between Nashville and Birmingham.

What’s the correct way to measure for mobile home doors and windows?

  1. Replacing a combination door (inside door and storm door) We recommend you measure the rough opening. All combination doors come with a casing. You need to measure the actual hole the door will fit in. Measure from inside the home with the door close.
  2. Replacing an outswing door Measure the actual door from the outside the home. Do not measure the metal frame
  3. Replacing a storm door only. Measure the actual storm door from the outside the home. Do not measure the metal frame

What is the code for mobile home steps?

Codes vary from county to county. Also check with your insurance company to see what they require. Most codes and insurance companies require a 3×3 platform landing with 1-2 handrails. Measure from the ground to the bottom or the door. We stock several different heights and widths. We offer two different kinds of steps: Metal with wood slats and Fiberglass. We do not carry concrete steps.

Do you sell skirting in kits or individual panels?

We sell skirting/underpinning by the individual panels or by the kit. Kits include enough skirting to go all the way around the home. Kits include the panels, top rail, bottom rail and hardware for installing. Call the office for price on individual panels or kit prices.

How do I measure skirting?

Measure the width and length of the home. Determine the average height of the home, by measuring the four corners of the home and the middle on each side. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the home. Total all 6 measurements and divide by 6.
